Dear Training Partner....

Dear Nike+iPod,
I love you because you talk to me while I'm running. I love your nice, gentle voice that tells me which mile I'm at and if I'm wondering...my pace and total time. I love how you tell me "halfway point" with an uplifting lilt in your voice. I love your British friend who tells me when I have made a new PR (personal record) - she has a very nice voice. She reminds me of my family in London. You keep me company at 5am when no one else is around. Thanks for the run this morning.
Love,
carrie
Silly silly me. I know. BUT - its true! Jason bought me this one day because he saw it in my running magazine and knew I would love it :-) I DO! I have heard of it, but despise Nike running shoes, so have never really looked into it. Jason found out you can use it in any kind of shoe! He also figured out a way to put the sensor in my shoe so I wouldn't even know it was there and I have run the last 2 weeks with this cool "training partner." Its great when I'm trying to run a certain pace (not very fast...) or when I have a longer run - it keeps me motivated - telling me which mile I'm at and then after the halfway point, counts down ("five more miles to go"). I love it. And there really is a random British girl that breaks in when you have a new PR . Fantastic. I would ALWAYS choose a friend to run with - but since I rarely have that - this is a good substitute :-)
As I sit here, the boys are playing in their room. Ezekiel is the Daddy and Gavin is the boy going to bed. Ezekiel keeps having to go in and tell the boy to be quiet and go to sleep. He is threatening different punishments and is telling him "stay in bed" and "don't laugh, this isn't funny." Can you tell we've been having bedtime issues???
