more pictures than you EVER wanted...of camping...

yeah...out of order...but here we go:
SO - our camping trip was great. Sunday we hung out at the cabin we were at and had dinner. Monday we fished and Gavin was the first to catch a fish! Then Jason was the 2nd. Good job Prince's! No, I didn't catch one that day. It was also way colder than we expected so I had to make a run to the cabin for warm clothes. Tuesday, everyone but Angela, the kids and I went out early to fish. Unfortunately I was sick, so Ang helped with the kids until everyone else got back. I was sick until Thurs morn which was a real bummer. Oh well. Thats life, huh? We all took turns making dinners, we played Speed Scrabble (my new favorite game that Jason says he'll play with me), sat around and talked and even had a "family birthday party" for all the birthdays in the summer. I'm super excited to have some new mineral make up! Thursday we went to this fishing spot that the others had gone to Tues morn. It was AMAZING fishing (I caught 12 in about an hour!!) but it was SO HOT!!!!!!!! OH my GOSH. I was dying...the kids did great and had fun. It was stinky, muddy and HOT, but we caught fish like crazy! Gavin was very brave by that day and was holding the fish while we got the hooks out and even held a lizard (unprecedented - usually he is very fearful of holding anything like that...the first day fishing he didn't even want to reel in his own fish because he was scared!)!! Thursday night we spent the night a different place with my parents, D and B and then packed up and left Friday. It was a great trip and the kids had fun. Violet was a little stinker and was up every 2-3 hours every night (didn't want her to cry and keep up the other people in the cabin)...but thats ok. Again, thats life :-) So here are some pictures!
On Thursday at the HOT, DIRTY fishing hole
Gavin was the "net helper" as others caught fish
Me on my fishing rock
Jason (my brother), Daniel and Dad were in "tubes" fly fishing
Catching fish with Nannie
The boys played SO well together the whole trip. They were wrestling on the air mattress
Violet enjoyed time in every one's arms
It took about 10 shots to get this picture where they are both looking at the camera
HOT DIRTY fishing hole...Ang stayed on Violet duty for most of it!
Lots of rocks

Monday fishing - it was cold so we covered V's head with a bandanna
Loving the porch
This is a funny...but not really funny in the moment story...we were all sitting around playing speed scrabble when we heard a thump...Murphy (J & Ang's dog) was on the floor (he had been laying with my dad) and my dad was swiping at his ear with brutal force. He was shaking his head as if trying to get water out of his ear. He was, in fact, trying to get the above bug out of his ear!! It flew in while he slept on the couch and thankfully was knocked right back out in a matter of 30 seconds or so. When the ordeal was over, we laughed so hard about how my dad had reacted. He looked like a dog scratching at his ear and Murphy was staring at him...it was funny.

Speed scrabble and wine

V has lost most of the hair she was born with but a strip prevails down the middle of her head, sort of like a mohawk. I got some little clips at Wal-Mart to hold it back and it makes it really cute.
Gavin catches the first fish!
We have a tradition...you have to KISS your first fish. Jason kissed it for Gavin
Gavin's not so sure about this fish stuff...
Patiently waiting for a bite

Getting the poles ready
Nannie and V
Excited!
The boys played in the dirt every day. They LOVED it
Ready to go camping!
At 5:30am in the car on the way
On the way
Why'd you guys wake me up?
Diapers are ALWAYS a toy at our house. The boys surf on them
The first night...posing with our friend Murphy
Good job for your perseverance making it through this long post! :-)
