The hat in these pictures is from one of my mom's dearest friends, Gail Ramey. She made it when Gavin was a baby and he wore it some, and now Ezekiel gets use from it! I love how warm it is! Perfect for Ez's head when we are on a cooler run...thanks again, Gail!!

It has been over a week since I have run until this morning. I wasn't able to all last week because it was a little chilly(for us in S. California, anyways!), they were both sick, and I couldn't run at night because Jason got home too late most nights. So, today I am thankful for:

1) The warm morning

2) Getting to run for 40 minutes(no crying babies forcing me to turn around, etc.) - the first 10 felt really nasty, then I felt great!

3) The sandbox my parents got Gavin for Easter a few years ago. We have it on the back porch and he LOVES to play in it. Today he cried big, sad tears because he wasn't done "making a train" with the sand...I promised more after naptime and he was ok...

4) The tri-tip Jason cooked on the bar-b-q for dinner last night. It was delicious. And we got to eat with Nick and Becky - one of our last meals as neighbors! So sad for us to be leaving them! But we are having dinner with them tonight too (and Wed, Thurs, Friday?? just kidding!)

5) Gavin's new phrase of "I appreciate it." It sounds so cute coming from him

6) The nice hot shower I just took as both boys nap

7) Text messaging on our phones. This is especially useful to one of my friends....

8) Being back on the weight watchers wagon...yeah, I fell off for a few days...stress and exhaustion causes me to be lazy and not want to keep track of my "points" but today is a new day, and I'm back :-)

9) This may sound lame - but we have a really annoying kitchen trashcan right now that tears the trashbags when we pull them out to take to the dumpster - at our "new house" we will have a much better place to throw trash away in the kitchen. Kind of a cabinet with a trashcan in it. Plus, I just realized - no more walking trash to the dumpster! GREAT!

10) Talking to a guy outside today as he told me he and his family were visiting from Iowa and it was 27 below 0 when they left on Saturday. Yes, -27 degrees. Made me think - wow- I'm really thankful to live here, and to have grown up here. I have never experienced that kind of miserable cold (he said the car wouldn't warm up and they drove for 3 hours to Chicago, shivering the whole way).
