The sun did end up coming out today, but not until later. We had great teaching in church today on 1 Cor. chapter 7....I'm going to do a brief sum-up, because I think its a great reminder. Basically, our pastor used the phrase "Bloom Where You're Planted" as part of his teaching. What do you think of first? A silly Mary Englebright picture, probably. That was my initial thought. But as he explained it, I started loving this phrase. In this chapter of 1 Cor, Paul is basically telling the people of this church : it doesn't matter where you are in life: married, single, widowed, married to an unbeliever, etc....work out your faithfulness and loyalty to God there....Pastor Lou said "where do the what ifs get you? What if I had...OR...What if I was more like....etc. You get the point. The what ifs get you nowhere. So focus on where you are at...where God has you, and flourish in Jesus THERE. Don't wait until your kids are older, job is less busy. life feels less chaotic, have more money, are getting along better with your family--NO...there is not a better time. Be loyal and faithful to Jesus NOW. Where you are at.
Ok...done preaching. (I loved this - can you tell? it was a real encouragement to me to day)
On other news...Jason has been sick this weekend with what I had last weekend. Thankfully, he is feeling much better today. The kids are doing well...Ezekiel is just getting a cold and has started wheezing again, so we are back on breathing treatments, but he is doing great. I can't believe my kids are 1 1/2 and almost 4!! Where did the time go?
We had a fun time celebrating our dear friends' daughter's birthday yesterday. Reagan is 1...and is going to be a big sister! Becky is due with her second in January...Yeah!! One more to add to the co-op! :-)
Jason is out getting us sushi and a movie - YES!!
My camera is dead or I would have posted a few pictures...and I haven't posted for so long because I worked 3 nights last week.
blessings!

I just re-read this and it hit me in a new way... your pastor has some really good thoughts.
Somedays, like the past two or three, I think about my day and I think, what did I do all day? What did I accomplish? This is a good reminder that I can flourish in and for Christ, even if I'm just at home all day, cleaning up pee. Thank you for sharing this.
