May '07As I sit here listening to the boys play in the backyard together before bath time, I think back to games I used to play with Daniel. We played "Sparky" where one of us was a dog--with a leash around our bellies (the neck was too dangerous! :-) ) and a plastic tupperware for our water (we had to lap it up...), I think about playing in the "rafters" of our house in RB where we would sit for hours during the summer playing cards and sending a basket down to our mom so she could give us some snacks...I think about our times of exploring our backyard and tying our dog (BB?) up to a sprinkler outside...I have so many great memories and I love that our boys will have the same. (just to clarify...I have good memories with my older brother too...I just had more imaginative playtime with Daniel since we were home together a year while Jason was already in school)
Its so fun listening to Ezekiel become more and more talkative. Today I heard him say "here it is" when we were trying to find a ball in the bushes. He says words that I didn't even know he knows...like applesauce, stop and belly to name a few. Hes in a fun stage. Of course Gavin cracks me up all the time - today as he kicked the ball to Ezekiel, he watched Ezekiel's face light up and he said to me "mom, I think that ball gave Ez joy in his heart." I said: "i think so too. do you have joy in your heart?" Gav: "yes, because I love God."
The long and warmer days have been fun for us to sit outside to eat dinner and have some playtime outside after we eat dinner. The kids love it.
When Daniel and Bethany came down this weekend, they brought us a copy of the new cd from Ryan and Holly Sharp and I LOVE IT! I've been playing it in the house while straightening up or making dinner and its so amazing. Since I don't know how to do a cool link on my blog yet, if you want a great cd, let me know and I'll get you in touch with them. Their band is called the cobalt season and the album is In Search of a Unified Theory.
Since I didn't blog yesterday, I'll just mention that Kristen's birthday was yesterday!!! Happy Birthday, Kristen. I love you and hope you had a great day and have a great weekend! As I've mentioned before, Kristen is one of my most loyal friends and has loved and supported me in so many ways over the past 8 years or so...I love you Kris!!
