When is the next Race??

There is a part of me that is disappointed that the race is over. Just as a bride is often sad the actual wedding is over...so am I a bit sad this journey is complete. Not to say I won't run any more races, because I feel like I want to sign up for one next month...but NO, I'm not going to! This took a lot of time away from Jason and the kids and was very difficult to get my miles in due to our schedules, so I'm not sure if I'll do another marathon for a while...but we'll see!

If you read my blog yesterday, you know I was shooting for a certain time...

And yes, I made my time! I actually ran it 3 minutes faster than my goal, which was really cool for me. I wanted to get 3:55 (yes, almost 4 hours!), and I got 3:52. I felt great and really enjoyed the experience. Sally jumped in and joined me just before mile 25 and paced me for the remainder of the race. It was perfect timing because I was feeling like I needed to slow down, but she coached me and kept me running a faster pace. Then as I got up to the finish line, I saw Jason, the kids, my parents, my brother and Angela and Natalie and I sprinted through the finish, basking in their cheers.

What an amazing feeling I have right now. I am proud of myself and so grateful I have the capability to run. Thank you, Jesus, for my healthy body!

Now, pass the ibuprofen! Hopefully I won't be hobbling around too badly tomorrow!
