Vegas

Saturday morning we dropped the kids off with Nick and Becky and headed to Baker, which is about 120 miles outside Vegas. Jason was participating in a relay run called Baker to Vegas which has a bunch of law enforcement agencies with teams racing each other. The kids had a great time with Nick and Becky during the day Saturday and then were picked up by Nana and Papa Dan and got to enjoy time with them that night and Sunday. We were in the car most of the day Saturday between getting to the appropriate area for Jason's part of the race, then on to Vegas, but we enjoyed the time together. Jason did great in his 6.2 mile run and we enjoyed a fantastic dinner in the restaurant at the Monte Carlo hotel.
We are actually not fans of Vegas at all...but it was fun to go away together and decided we are going to do this more often. Its so nice having people nearby that love our kids and we can trust to take care of them as we would. Thank you Fishers and Nana and Papa Dan!!
In the hotel room before leaving for dinner(sidenote - we thought we were about a mile from the Strip so we walked...ended up being a 5 mile walk round trip!):
After his "leg"- Jason barely looked like he had run!

Waiting at the end of his run. The people in the vests are the "catchers" - each runner had one. I got to "catch" Jason. This meant I stood at his finish area with water and made sure he was ok and didn't need medic attention :) I have decided I need a "catcher" in my own life. Perhaps after a rough day with the kids my "catcher" could greet me with a delicious yogurt...haha.

If you look carefully you can see how the road turns up to the right and it was a crazy hill - part of Jason's run
As I drove past and screamed : "GO JASON" - no, he wasn't embarrased at all.

team # written all over the car. I think its still there.
