All about the V!

Our fabulous baby girl turned ONE today, and I for one...can't believe it. I know, I know. I always say that, right?? But I can't help it! I seriously can't believe that our little tiny bundle of feminine joy has turned ONE. She awoke in a great mood, as always, despite the runny nose and rash-covered face/body (we think she might have reacted to strawberries...poor baby). She was still beautiful. It was her turn to wear the "Birthday Prince" crown...
Ideally I would have gotten a family picture, but that would have been highly difficult. This picture is decent of Jason and I, but shows how Violet was feeling...not so hot. The party girl in her kept her going, but at times, I could tell she was not at her best...(she looks super pathetic in this picture)
We celebrated with a small breakfast party with family and a couple of friends. Since it was a birthday party, we had to have dessert, so my mom made these adorable butterfly cupcakes. Violet ate hers like a champ, though I only got a video.

She was delighted to get several pairs of shoes...
And she enjoyed opening presents more than I thought she would. We only had her open a few, but she had great fun. Notice another adorable pair of shoes on her feet and her thrilling scream at her new swimsuit!
Something that amazed us all was when Violet opened a baby doll from my Grandma, she immediately grabbed it and cuddled it. She proceeded to rock it in her arms and even sing to it. I'm not exaggerating! My mom has it on video! Nobody prompted her or anything - it just came naturally! SUCH a difference between the boys and her at this age. They would have THROWN that baby!
Poor Violet succumbed to her sickness after her short (only an hour all day!) nap and was quite sad and whiny for the rest of the day. That's ok...she got lots of cuddles, because, its your birthday, baby(and you get limitless cuddles and patience when you are sick)!

So so so so so so CUTE! So fun to see you guys so head over heels for Violet (as if you'd be any other way, but after two boys, I love all the girlie stuff and how much you are into it!). Some great pics and I'm glad to hear that V managed to find the party girl within despite not feeling so hot. Thanks for posting so fast... I missed being in on the fun today!!!! Gotta live it via the pics! :) Love you!

How can it be her birthday?

Well, happy birthday Violet!

Wish we could have been there but I am having fun hearing about her personality development from afar!

Happy birthday to Violet! Hey Carrie, I've been taking a bunch of photo classes and workshops and if you want me to practice on your kids anytime, I'd love to do a shoot for you!

Oh, and tell your friends to post on my blog and they can be entered to "win" a free shoot, too!
