She did it!

As I mentioned in my last post, my mom was going to run a marathon. It was Sunday and she did fantastic! We went down early Sun morn and hung out around the finish line until she got in. It was great. Beautiful weather, good music and SO MANY PEOPLE!!! There were about 20,000 runners and they were expecting 55,000 people at the finish! WOW. The coolest thing is I got to run with my mom some. From the finish line, I ran up to mile 23 and found my mom. I ran with her until almost mile 26. Sally did this for me during my marathon and it was so amazing to have someone there in those last miles for psychological support. Those last few miles of a marathon are such a mind game...your body wants to quit because its so tired and everything hurts - but you have to use your mind to overcome that. It was a privilege for me to be able to do that for my mom.

Ready for the day!
You did it!!
Good Job Mom! We're so proud of you!
