Mail Lover

I absolutely love getting the mail. I'm not sure why, since many of the things I receive fall into two very unappealing categories. The majority of my mail is either a) JUNK mail or b) BILLS - equally annoying. But for some reason, my passion for the mail does not wane. The "receiving time" is usually during nap time and if I hear the mailman deposit the goods, I will be outside before he has left our walkway. I'm not exaggerating. I'll never understand those of you who "forget" to get the mail...or have a mailbox elsewhere(not right on your property) and you don't pick up the mail for several days or weeks. What a shame.
One of my very favorite things to see in my mailbox is my Runner's World magazine. I usually read it cover to cover the day I get it and then re-read articles I like several times. When I was pregnant and not running Jason would tease me saying he should be reading it and I should read Walkers World or something. And nowadays, I have to hide my RW magazine if I have not finished it because if Jason sees it laying around, he wants to read it cover to cover too! He has become quite the trained athlete. I will solve that problem by buying him a triathlete magazine for Fathers Day. And now, I must read my magazine I received today!!

I love getting the mail too! Like you it's almost always junk or bills but the possibility of something fun and interesting always keeps me coming back for more! I'm a cover to cover Runner's World junkie too..I have a hard time parting with them months after they've been read over and over! By the way your mom is amazing and you are my inspiration for post-baby running!
Take care-

I represent the demographic that doesn't really count down the minutes till' the mail comes. I don't know why! Maybe because it's not as convenient, being that it's an apartment complex and you have to walk to the central mail box area. It's kind of become one of Ryan's things. In fact, he's gone right now and I don't think I've checked it for two days! I can feel you rolling your eyes. :) Maybe one day, when we have a house, I'll join your club. Maybe I'll run a marathon too. Or fly to the moon. Anything's possible, right?

Love you. :)

Hey at least the mailman is gone before you check the mail; I sometimes chat with her while she's ruffling through the pile of envelopes. I LOVE getting the mail! And I got my RW mag today too...yipee. Don't you love the article about the two moms running SF...umm weird; I totally thought of you. I was like, "hey...that's us...5 kids between the two of us...training for our Oct. marathon." So cool. Love ya C
