new fun in Ez's bed...

Lots of room changing occur ed this weekend. Ok, not lots...just a few. Violet has been in our room up until now since we have put off moving Ezekiel into Gavin's room...we planned to make the transition for Ezekiel from crib to bed as well at the same time. SO...we put Ezekiel in the "boys room" in his crib turned toddler bed and moved everything around and we moved Violet into his room. She is still in her bassinet since our neighbor hasn't given us the crib they are lending us yet.
We didn't really think about the "fun" aspect of it. We were more concerned about Ezekiel getting up at night once he figured out he could (immediately). However, that hasn't been the problem. The 2 nights they have been in there have them falling asleep around 10pm! Why? Because although they are in bed at 8 or so...they are so excited to have each other around at bedtime they have a very hard time winding down and not talking. We heard them saying silly things to each other last night and laughing like crazy. Jason and I looked at each other and laughed - we think its cute - to a certain point. We know its an adjustment and are confident the newness will fade away and bedtime will be a little easier in the coming weeks.
Violet is also adjusting to her new room. I kind of thought she would have no idea there was a change since she is sleeping in the same bassinet, but she has noticed. Instead of waking up 1x/night she woke up 3-4 times. The great thing is she has started taking a pacifier and I can just pop that in her mouth and she goes to sleep immediately. She has become so easy! I put her down awake for her naps with her pacifier and she goes to sleep. After she eats, she sits in her bouncy chair hanging out or on the floor on the blanket and is happy as long as someone is in the room with her. She is not picky (it doesn't have to be me)- she loves her brothers to play with her and is quick to smile for both of them.

Some of my best memories as a kid are of sharing a room with my sister. We used to stay up late talking and laughing and chucking stuffed animals at each other. I'm sure it wasn't every night, but I'm glad my parents allowed this from time to time because that is the stuff that forged our friendship! -B
