Last Wednesday I worked a short (8-hour) day shift and Jason took the kids to the mall with Sarah and her kiddies. Jason told me a funny story about Gavin seeing some Army men and women dressed in their fatigues. Gavin turned to Jason and said : "Dad, do they sing the song - I may never march in the infantry, ride in the calvary, shoot the artillery..."
Then yesterday we were driving in the car listening to some kid's praise songs and Gavin asked about a particular word - commandment. He asked what it meant. After Jason explained it, Gavin said "I like that word. I think we should call Ez that word." Me: "So instead of Ez, we should call your brother commandment?" Gavin: "Yeah. Thats a good word and I think Ez would like it."
In the mornings, as I am making coffee or unloading the dishwasher, Ez will often wander into the kitchen holding some clothing item saying "this." That means he wants me to put it on him. It could be anything from Gavin's shirt, Gavin's undies, Jason's shoes, my shoes, my tank top....its pretty funny. It looks pretty cute to see Ez running around with some Bob the Builder underwear over his pajamas!
Seems like God is doing something with me right now, and thats a good thing...though it doesn't always feel like it. When life is hard or doesn't seem right to ME...I often go to the thought of: " I didn't sign up for this!" OR "my life is supposed to be different...this isn't the way I planned..." So often, God has to remind me to trust Him. And often, I can't see His purpose in the immediate or even slightly current time. It is usually much later (or never!) that I see a tiny sliver of God's plan. I can, however, rest in the knowledge that God loves me, has a purpose and is the only One I need to put my full trust and devotion into.

Sensing that God is working something in you is a neat place to be. Enjoyed your blog and pictures today. :) Love you!
A. The re-naming Ez "Commandment" story made me almost spit out my coffee... SO FUNNY. I can just see you and Jason laughing your heads off, driving along... Oh man, Gavin killllls me.
B. If Ezekiel Prince gets any cuter, I am going to have no choice but to kidnap him. He looks like such a little boy these days... wow. Great pics!
