Today in Bible study we talked about being mothers. More than thinking about myself as a mother ( though I did that too), I thought more about how blessed I am to have my mom. I know I mention her all the time, but in Proverbs, there is a verse that says that a Godly woman will have children that grow up(rise up) and call her blessed(I think this is accurate...I haven't double checked it in the verse). My mom is that woman. I will never stop being thankful for her or cherishing time I have with her. I think back to silly things I have been bothered by about her and want to go back and take them away. I was such a snot at many times in my life, and my mom stood by and took the emotional beatings from me.
How many people can say their mother prayed for them daily every day of their life? I know that my mom has diligently done that for me. In the past she showed me a prayer journal that she wrote specific things in and as God answered those prayers, she would write in the answers in red pen, I believe. My mom lives her life striving to be more like Jesus and to learn what God wants from her and who He wants her to be. And now my mom asks ME to prayer for her, and because she has created a legacy of loving Jesus, she has taught me through not only words, but example how important it is to love God with everything and PRAY PRAY PRAY.
On with my list for the day...
1) Ok, Kristen - here you go: Kristen whooped my booty in Yahtzee last night with a lifetime high score of 524!!!!!!! Yeah, thats 3 Yahtzees! I didn't even come close. We DID however, play best of 5 and I won 3 games... But, wow am I thankful for a friend that really wins with a humble spirit(yeah right)...
2) Bible study today - Oh how thankful I have a mom that has prayed for me from day 1.
3) Sleeping in until 7:30am today
4) Delicious dinner last night - Kristen's recipe.
5) My bedroom ceiling fan that is currently keeping Ez mesmorized
6) My home phone having a calling plan now, so I can use it and its cheaper than my cell phone - plus, I can actually make and receive calls without missing every 3rd word...(thanks mark!)
7) Gavin doing amazing at potty training - still! Today I put him in his class w/ undies on and he did great. We haven't had an accident in quite awhile...pooping is still a challenge, but, he knows when he has to go, and just asks for me to put a diaper on him - then he poops, and wants undies again. Cool - at least its not in his undies anymore!
8) Getting to talk to my friend Sally, who had a baby last week and seeing pictures of her adorable little girl
9) Deciding Amanda and I should read Power of a Praying Wife together and talk through it together
10) Kristen telling me she's going to bring me some clothes next week :-) YES!
PS - I will post more pictures soon!
