My mom and I have had several zoo adventures over the years with the kids. We have funny memories from each visit that we still laugh about. Maybe our first visit was to the SD zoo and Gav was 2 and Ezekiel was probably 6 months or so...
Yesterday we attempted another zoo adventure. Yes, it was fun. Yes we laughed a lot, but it was full of....interesting circumstances: The traffic on the way there was horrible, the tires I had "fixed" on the jogging stroller were not right so the stroller didn't roll right, it was over 90 degrees, and there was a bee infestation at the zoo. No, seriously. We couldn't even sit and eat our lunch - every time we pulled food out, we were surrounded by aggressive bees.
The cool thing is this stuff didn't really affect our time together. I always have a great time with my mom. She makes me laugh and loves being super fun with the kids. V doused herself with water to attempt to cool off...

Highlight...the gorillas! My mom LOVES the gorillas...we spent a good amount of time running around to all the viewing areas. They really are amazing creatures.

We left early - got reimbursement tickets after complaining about the bees....sat in traffic again and then swam at my grandma's pool...it was a great day filled with laughter. But maaaaaybe next time we'll go to the SD zoo :)
