Our trip started off with a fairly tame flight. We had a row of 3 seats to ourselves and Ez liked sitting in a seat for a little bit. As the kids got bored of my bag of "tricks" we walked to the back of the plane and there was a few rows of empty seats. One of the flight attendants put a blanket up so it looked like a tent, and the kids played around in there for at least an hour. That was great! And thankfully the flight was smooth, so it wasn't a problem to be out of the seats. We got to Seattle were thrilled to see Kristen as well as shocked by the chilly air. The whole drive to Kristen's house Gavin was asking if we could play in the snow...there was a bit on the ground and we played for a few minutes to appease my little CA boy. That night, it snowed a few inches and we awoke to the beauty of infinite white. Of course we had to play in it, so we bundled the kids up in their snow clothes (Kristen had found on sale at Old Navy) and made snow angels, threw snowballs at each other and...ate dirt. Oh, wait, that was Ez. The next day we ventured into Seattle and saw the Aquarium, ate at Ivar's(famous for fish n' chips) and saw some famous sights. On our last day we bowled and had lunch with Kristen and Ryan before embarking on our airport adventure/Hell.
We had a great time and of course enjoyed much yahtzee, as Kris and I are destined to be constantly yearning for a yahtzee partner since neither of our significant others enjoy it...it was so good to be with my long-time friend!
I DO have a new appreciation for people who live in cold weather. What a pain to get jackets on and off again every time you go outside, then back in...geez. Not sure I could do it. That gave Ezekiel a whole new avenue of reasons to cry (yeah, every time his jacket went on, he cried).
PICTURES...I have a ton, but Kristen actually put a bunch on her blog and since I don't really have the time or patience to do what she did, go to her blog to see them (you don't mind, do ya Kris??) www.kristenwhite.blogspot.com
:-) Sorry its taken so long to recount our trip...I'm STILL doing laundry and cleaning up!
